This week's guest is Dr. Will Winter, co-founder of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association and the author of The Holistic Veterinary Handbook. Judith McGeary is a founding board member of the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund and is the Weston A. Price Foundation chapter leader for Austin, Texas. She is also an attorney, a farmer, and the Executive Director of the Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance. The Alliance is a non-profit organization founded to protect the rights of independent farmers, ranchers, and homesteaders, and to help ensure the success of independent agriculture.

Ms. McGeary has a B.S. in Biology from Stanford University and a J.D. with high honors from The University of Texas at Austin. In her legal career, she has practiced administrative law, litigation, and appeals. She and her husband run a small farm with heritage poultry, sheep, cows, and horses.

Will Winter earned his veterinary degree in Animal Nutrition and completed post-graduate studies and conducted scientific research in Veterinary Toxicology.  Dr. Winter is a co-founder of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association and the author of The Holistic Veterinary Handbook.  He has also served as the veterinary advisor to the International Alliance of Sustainable Agriculture since 1984.

In 1999 he retired from his practice and said goodbye to his MN license so that he could focus full-time on lecturing and writing about holistic veterinary livestock issues, sustainable agriculture, and traditional nutrition. He has recently founded the American Holistic Livestock Association, and is the founder and owner of Rescue Animal Products and Restoration Raw Pet Food. Dr. Winter is the chapter leader for the Weston A. Price Foundation for Minneapolis-St. Paul, moderates several web discussion groups, and has been the herd consultant for the Thousand Hills Cattle Company since 2005.
