Idaho ag department to consider raw milk rules

The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is working on an update to the state's rules on how raw milk may be sold.

The first meeting for the negotiated rule process is set for Aug. 10 in Boise.

The Idaho Department of Agriculture wants to update the milk quality and sanitation requirements for any raw milk sold for human consumption, and to clarify existing rules for raw milk produced under the so-called cow share program.

Raw milk is milk that has not been pasteurized.
